Medical Coding Specialist Training

Program Description

This program is designed to provide necessary skills and knowledge to the student/participant for the preparation of program graduate to apply for entry-level Medical Coding jobs. Medical Coding is far more than assigning numbers to services and diagnosis. The Medical Coding curriculum has been tailored in such ways to allow the student to abstract information from patient's record, and combine it with their knowledge of reimbursement and coding guidelines to optimize physicians and hospital payments.

Section 1 The CPT Manual 110 hours
Section 2 ICD-9-CM 30 hours
Section 3 Overview of Reimbursement 20 hours


Course Schedule:
 
AM Schedule: 20 hours per week x 8 weeks = 160 hours
PM Schedule: 14 hours per week x 11.5 weeks - 160 hours

Day Class: Monday through Thursday 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. (Day)
Breaks: 10:20 to 10:40, 12:40 to 1:00

Evening Class: Monday through Thursday 6:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. (Evening)
Break: 7:40 to 8:00

Weekend Class Saturdays: 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Breaks: 10:20 to 10:40, 12:40 to 1:00
